Effect of Board Diversity on firm risk-taking
Prof. Bernile holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Rochester since the Summer of 2006. Prior to joining Lee Kong Chian School of Business at Singapore Management University in 2013, Professor Bernile served on the faculty of the University of Miami. During this time, he also worked at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as a Visiting Scholar between 2008 and 2010, where he was engaged both in rule-making and enforcement activities. Aside for this period, he has worked on ad hoc consulting assignments for Forensic Economics Inc. since 2005. Professor Bernile’s teaching interests span all areas of Corporate Finance and Corporate Governance and Control. His research interests include venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, securities regulation and corporate fraud, portfolio choice and institutional investors, capital markets segmentation, behavioral finance, and network economics. His research is published in prominent Finance and Accounting journals. He and his coauthors have recently received Best Paper Award from Financial Management for the period 2011-2012, Best Paper Award from the Eastern Finance Association at its 2013 meetings, and 1st Place at the Chicago Quantitative Alliance 2014 Conference in Hong Kong
